A Fresh Snow, A Fresh Start

How can you not enjoy a day like this?

more snow

It’s glorious.

glorious snow

For to the snow He says,`Fall on the earth,’ And to the downpour and the rain, `Be strong.’  Job 37.6

The front door is so welcoming…

…and here’s what it looks like out the back door. (not so welcoming)

I could marvel at this beauty all day and never get bored.

Nature is so life-giving, so spirit-lifting.

The snow just keeps going and blowing.

Snow is mentioned throughout the Scriptures, both literally and figuratively. It’s such a wonderful picture of new beginnings and purity – clean, untouched, “white as snow.”

I had a friend pop in this afternoon and she told me that as she traipsed up our front steps, she thought to herself, “It’s so crisp and clean out here – reminds me to start this year anew.”

I totally get it.

God’s cleansing forgiveness is real…and I get that too. Thank you, Jesus.

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.      Isaiah 1.18 ESV

  1. Great pictures Diane. The house does look inviting; but then I think it always does!

    • These are the moments when winter just looks and feels perfect! Once it gets grey and mushy, Mexico looks much better!
      Miss you big, Mo!

  2. Mmmmm…the Isaiah reference 🙂 Amen.
