Boats and Docks, Tanks And Telescopes

If you’ve been keeping up the date with this blog, you know what a “dockin” is  – but today, it was time to get the “dock out.”

Enter good friends, twenty hours together and a lot of fun. Dinner and a movie last night, followed by a nice sleepover and a good sleep in.

Homemade waffles and quiche were consumed this morning.

Of course, according to the guys, we all HAD to go on a boat ride, despite the fact that it was cold, windy and rainy. Nothing cleans out the sinuses better than a bumpy boat ride on a windy day. We looked ridiculous but Deone and I stayed warm.

Homemade turkey soup and grilled cheese sandwiches were on the lunch menu and then it was time to get down to business – time to deal with the dock.

The guys slaved away and the women folk snuck back into the house for a warm cup of birthday cake tea and a great conversation. However, it wasn’t long before it was time for the boys to play with their toys – out came the remote tank and helicopter. Can you spot the helicopter?

Daniel than proceeded to save Chris and I hundreds of dollars by fixing our broken telescope, for which we are VERY thankful. Late afternoon, we hunkered down to watch a great Tim Hawkins performance. If you haven’t seen any of his comedy videos, check him out on Youtube. He’s great – here a few examples.

What would we do without good friends? – the “kick-back-relax-laugh-and-be-yourself” kind of friends that fill a day with meaningful conversations and wonderful memories. Chuck Swindoll put it well when he said, “I cannot even imagine where I would be today were it not for that handful of friends who have given me a heart full of joy. Let’s face it, friends make life a lot more fun.”

I couldn’t agree more. Thanks, Daniel and Deone  – we couldn’t have planned a better way to spend the day.

  1. Loved Yoga Pants…too funny. That’s me .
