Great News!

My daughter, Danae was told that it would take up to four weeks to get her results of her Massage Therapy exam but as soon as I woke up this morning, I sensed that Danae would receive good news today…and she did.

The phone rang about 10:00 a.m.

Hi Mom. Is Chris there?

Can you get him on the other end of the phone?

Chris picked up.

I passed my exam!

I just broke into tears. I was dancing all over the kitchen and Chris had the biggest smile I’ve ever seen. We were so excited for Danae.

Her world just got bigger.

Let me tell you a story that I didn’t have the freedom to share when I blogged last week about Danae’s exam.

Danae graduated from a well reputed, three year college course in Massage Therapy in June 2010. In order to become a licensed Massage Therapist, she was required to pass both a final written exam and a practical exam. She was more concerned about the written exam but she passed it without any trouble. However, the practical exam was a very different story – she took the exam twice and failed by one mark, both times.  The College of Massage Therapists of Ontario states that if an applicant fails either exam three times, she/he must repeat three years of schooling – there is no other recourse – and Danae did not have the finances or the desire to do so. She was very discouraged about the situation and felt hopeless. However, with some prodding, she decided to try one last time.

She studied really hard for weeks and then came home for two days so that I help her prepare. There were some tears and frustration expressed – but then we got down to work. I was impressed with how much information she had retained – she knew her stuff – but we also talked a lot about attitude, articulation and perseverance.

I contacted a group of women and asked them to pray with me…and they did.

When I got word this morning that Danae had passed, the first thing I did was email my friends who had so faithfully prayed for Danae.

Hi everyone!

Praise God! Danae just got the official word that she passed her Massage Therapy exam!  Hallelujah!
What a glorious moment to share with my daughter, when she called this morning. She knows that this time was different and she is very aware of the prayer that went behind it. Thank you so much for praying with me.
I will be blogging about this today  (Danae was fine about it) so check it out later on, when you get a moment.
Again, thank you for being a HUGE part of this victory!
Love Diane

Here were some of their responses.

Do I hear a collective AMEN!?!
Congrats to Danae – may those she serves benefit from her healing touch.

Wow, I see the power of praying! This is more than wonderful, congrats to Danae!
We rejoice with you and Danae and praise God for His empowering in this exam pass. It’s wonderful to be part of God’s work.
When we uplift people in prayer and believe that God hears and answers,  anything and everything can happen. Phillips Brooks once wrote, “Prayer is not conquering God’s reluctance, but taking hold of God’s willingness.”

What a powerful truth.

Jesus replied,”  I tell you the truth, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea, and it will be done. If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.                   Matthew 21.22 NIV
